The powerpuff series from colgate are 3 toothpastes in 3 different flavours for kids. Each character goes with different flavours, Blossom(Strwberry), Bubbles(icy cool), Buttercup(lime).

Survey Results



Consumers preferred flipcaps rather than screw caps, basically it is convenient. but some consumers pointed out pros and cons in both flip caps as well as screw caps. a product will be designed by keeping in mind these factors. this is the result of the survey.

Consumers were looking for a toothpaste thats can be easily carried while travelling . two choices were given, tubes or capsular btoothpaste. this was the end result of the polling.convenience was the criteria considered.


Poppers is a new element that is added in to the colgate kickstart which early in the morning will help the senses to react quickly and wake u up fresh and energetically from the usual habit of laziness. this was the opinion poll on the usage of poppers in toothpaste.



Some consumers found the regular tubes boring so they advised to make it little more stylish by changing the way it looks or by changing the material. some preffered regular tubes with aluminium alloys and were not ready to accept changes. this is the result of the survey done on the basis of consumers preferences based on the outlook of toothpaste product.


Three choices were given to consumers asking how would they like tgheir product to be. a normal tube, a pumping mechanism bottle like that of lotions and gels, or capsular toothpaste . these were the results of the survey in percentages. convenience and usage was the main criteria considered here.
This pie chart shows consumers preferences on three toothpaste brands - Colgate, Pepsodent and Close-Up. Various reasons like taste, price , loyalty and other reasons were the factors in making a choice of the product. Some of the consumers preferred other toothpaste brands as well. Some consumers preferred close-up because of its taste, while colgate failed in this area because people said the fluoride content is more while some said they dint bother to switch the brand because they had been using the same brand since ages.

This is the pie graph of the demographic surveys conducted among 50 people on the basis of taste and preferences, per capita income and choices. this survey was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 50 different individuals and asking them random questions. this survey has helped me clear out my mind block and has helped me look at myproduct in a broader way study the consumer behaviour and their preferences. the opinions and suggestions are seriously taken into consideration. i would like to thank my friend shantala who gave me the idea for this survey and karan, both of them helped me by asking opinions from people. without them this would'nt have been possible.

Three major brands Colgate, Pepsodent & Closeup fightback the tight marketing conditions, trying to be the best brand . Every brand with their focused target audience try to communicate their brand values to their consumers. Colgate enjoy a goodwill and brand loyalty of more than 2 centuries. With increase in public needs and demands, other products of the same category Close-Up & Pepsodent has been successfully able to break into the minds of the consumers and create an image for themselves. Pepsodent had been communicating their brand values to its target with various advertising and commercial strategies at a regular intervals. Pepsodent had been innovating on their products and reaching their audience keeping in mind the consumer needs. Close-Up in a similar way targeted and unexplored target audience(teenagers). Pepsodent and Close-Up still give a tough fight to the King Brand Colgate with their innovating variants.But Colgate never stops. Colgate came up with a super variant Colgate Total 12, which fights all the oral problems. Now when Colgate has probably reached a saturation point Colgate realises its importance to survive in the market and expand its image and goodwill. Colgate with a Net income of $135.4 million and worldwide sales of $12,237.7 in year 2006 has decided to produce a new variant and compete with other brands. Colgate's new variant will be distributed in Asian Market where the annual sales was upto 16% of the WWsales, i.e.( 1957.92 million) in 2006 and $216.544 million income out of which $34.56 million has been kept aside for advertising the new variant of the Colgate thats targeted towards the young group.
