Hmmmmm!! sounds confusing for a graphic designer!! but hope so it can work out.
1) Philosophy:
hope u've watched the movie 'CARS'. The car is desparate to get back & win the race when it is lost. Now thats its duty as its passion is but losing itself, found its love more than love, it found its inspiration, its GURU who won 4 cups in a row and finally it could achieve more than just winnig the race....
just push back from the logo& try the rest.. meanwhile in some corner u'll find the treasure.. the best choice!!!
2) Illustrators work process:
Got this idea from a video..u've done lots of pencil work on the logo..now get in chisel markers for bold stroke play and try indian ink for the tonal play. Put in all the crap ..Typo, visual or graphic on paper .. have fun.. stack these in photoshop in layers in a master file .. now swith on those 1by1 try opacity & differnt layer modes for each of them. Now the game begins .. randomly select 2-3 layers zoom in-out..u ll find ocean of compositions & color schemes ..select them & copy paste and save in separate files. Now take each one of them & refine them 1by1.
Last.. i liked the 1st 1's graphic.. matches with the base line though u've used the same typo.
Forgot 1thing...stop praising me be the most critical i like that
i liked the 1st one..luks clean,fresh and refreshin and everything goes with the tonality.Think you shud use tis.
i like the first one and the middle one...really like the middle one but i guess its a very fun look...meaning that it would look awesome on a kid's toothpaste can(or tube)

Mama, colgate layouts wat you have uploaded are good. Im personally impressed with first logo layout saying Kick Start in solid block alphabets.
